Forty-first match of ongoing t20 world played between Pakistan and Bangladesh. In the morning match between South Africa vs Netherlands which proteas got defeated unexpectedly and their world cup campaign also ended but they made a room for Bangladesh and Pakistan to qualify for the world cup semi-final. Both countries played their final match of the ICC T20 world cup 2022 of Super 12 stage in Adelaide Oval Cricket Ground Australia in which both teams needed to win the game in terms to qualify for the semi-final as the Netherlands had a stunning defeat of South Africa and end their campaign for the world cup.
South Africa made Bangladesh vs Pakistan match a quarter-final after an upset defeat against the Netherlands. They make Pakistan and Bangladesh do or die match for both teams as the team who win the game will be qualified for the world cup semi-final and the other team’s world campaign will be ended and they will go back home. Bangladesh Batting
Bangladesh lost their first wicket on just 21 runs in the 3rd over’s 5th delivery of Shaheen Shah Afridi’s over but after that another opener and one-down player take responsibility on their shoulders and finishes 40/1 in the powerplay. The Bangladesh team was 70/1 after 10 overs but in the very next over they lost 2 consecutive wickets of Soumya and Shakib in Shadab’s over that putting them under pressure. They played well in the first half of the inning but in the second half of the inning, they could not end well. Pakistan Batting
Pakistan openers once again struggled to hit a score but first time in this world cup both opener remains not out at the end of a powerplay. And Pakistan scored 35/0 in the power play. Pakistan scored 56/0 after 10 overs. In the 11th over Babar was trying to hit a maximum to the mid-on to Nasum Ahmed’s final over but get a top edge towards the short third man Mustafizur Rahman takes the nice catch moving forward. Babar goes back to the pavilion after scoring 25 on 33 deliveries. Pakistani batters were struggling against Bangladeshi bowlers but poor fielding, no-ball, and overthrow extra runs put Bangladesh under pressure and help Pakistani batter to chase the total as soon as possible. Pakistan chased 128 runs in the first ball of the 19th over. Pakistan finishes 128/5 and wins by 5 wickets and 11 balls remaining.
Player of the Match
Shaheen Shah Afridi won the player of the match trophy for his magnificent bowling. He bowls 4 overs and gave just 22 runs with an economy of 5.50 and also took 4 wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi also registered his best bowling figure 22/4 in T20 internationals. His previous best bowling figure was 20/3 against New Zealand.
