FIFA World Cup Location 2022
FIFA world cup 2022 starts on 20th November 2022 in Qatar, a worldwide football tournament held once every four years. This will be the 22nd FIFA World Cup which will be played in Qatar from 20th Nov to 18 Dec 2022. Overall. It is the 22nd FIFA world cup but this will be the first-ever world cup held in the Arab world.
32 teams are participating in this world cup which is divided into 8 different groups. Each group contains 4 teams. This is the first ever FIFA world cup that is not held in May, June, or July. And will be held from late November to mid-December due to Qatar’s Intense summer heat.
The world cup’s first match will be played between Qatar and Ecuador at Al Bayt Stadium. Al Khor on 20th November 2022 starting at 9:00 PM. France will be participating as a defending champion of the FIFA World Cup.
Participating Teams in this World Cup
In this world cup, 32 teams will play on the group stage. In the group stage, 48 matches will be played but overall. The 64 matches will be played between teams throughout the tournament. The last match of the group stage will be played on 2 December 2022 between Cameroon vs Brazil at Lusail Iconic Stadium, Lusail. The top two teams of all 8 groups will qualify for the next stage. 16 teams will qualify for the next round which will be the knockout stage. Every team which will win in the Round of 16 will qualify for the quarter-final and the loser will go back home.
