Babar Azam becomes the sixth Pakistani batsman to score 1000 runs or more in a calendar year. He surpasses the 1000 runs during the third Test against England in Karachi. This year in 2022 he scored 1009 Test runs in 8 matches and 15 innings with an average of 67.26 and he also scored 196 runs against Australia which is the highest number of runs in his Test International career.
Babar Azam who currently scored 1009 runs in 15 innings, become the first Pakistani batter in the last six years to score 1000 or more runs in a calendar year and the fourth batter to reach the milestone in 2022 but he has two more innings left this year as Pakistan is scheduled to play a two-match Test series against New Zealand one match is scheduled this year from 26 December 2022. So, he still has a chance to end the year 2022 as the leading test runs scorer. The star batter also moves to the second spot in the International Test ranking with 875 points.
